British Virgin Islands-based international law firm Harneys is pleased to announce the making up of three new partners including one in its BVI office. Johann E Henry was made up in the latest round of promotions along with Sarah Dobbyn and Jonathan Law in the firm’s Cayman Islands office.
Johann leads the firm’s BVI-based international shipping practice. He regularly acts for some of the world’s leading ship builders, yacht brokers, ship owners and charterers, financial institutions and law firms providing advice related to all aspects of acquisition, financing, disposal and operation of ships in the context of a tax neutral port of British registry.
Johann also advises on a wide range of commercial and real property matters related to BVI domestic companies, property development and financing.
Sarah is head of Harneys’ litigation and insolvency practice in the Cayman Islands and a member of the firm’s Distressed Funds Group. Jonathan is part of the firm’s growing Cayman-based investment funds group.
Managing Partner Richard A Peters commented: “Sarah, Johann and Jonathan are talented and highly knowledgeable lawyers and their addition to the partnership strengthens three of our key practice areas: our litigation, shipping and funds groups. It is notable that two of the new partners are in our Cayman Islands office which has expanded rapidly since it was established just 15 months ago.”
