The First Annual International Food Festival and Grand Raffle, in aid of St. George’s Primary School, that took place on Saturday 30th of June at the Palm Grove Park was a resounding success.

This fun filled family event featuring food from all over the world including Panama, the Philippines, Trinidad, Jamaica, Africa and the BVI, enabled both young and old to explore and experience the diversity of cultures represented in the BVI.

This event was organized as a partnership between Ocean Conversion (BVI) Ltd, and The St. George’s Primary School Parents Teacher Association. Ocean Conversion (BVI) Ltd initiated the fund raising drive by pledging $12,500 and encouraging corporate funding for this event resulting in a further $17,000 being raised in sponsorship in addition to the proceeds of the event. Proud sponsors included BMobile, The Development Bank of the Virgin Islands, Smiths Gore Overseas Limited, Arias Fabrega & Fabrega, Colonial Insurance, HR Penn Limited, CCT Global Communications and First Caribbean International Bank.

The members of the St. George’s School PTA and other members of the community came out to lend a hand and to prepare the grounds for the event including Mr. Stone Gumbs and his team who worked tirelessly to ensure that the facility was ready and completed on time. Ocean Conversion (BVI) Ltd and the St. George’s Primary School PTA whole heartedly thank all contributors to the First Annual International Food Festival and Grand Raffle and look forward to their continued support and participation next year.
